Job Description

You will assist with the identification and assist justification of future network needs, together with managing efficient stakeholder engagement and manage specific pieces of work to meet objectives, ensuring relevant policies and procedures are followed.

Day to day

  • Provide flexible and efficient correspondence handling in line with formal performance targets.
  • Provide final drafts for high level correspondence such as, but not restricted to, responses from Highways England senior managers to send in response to letters from MPs.
  • Collate and analyse information requested under Freedom of Information or Environmental Information Regulations requests, including first drafts of replies.
  • Respond to enquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Seek, collate and analyse data and information utilising support from others outside own immediate team, where appropriate, in order to help achieve results.
  • Administrative support to other team members, including input and support to Value Management workshops.
  • Comply with statutory and internal process and procedure and maintain accurate administrative records using organisational systems.


About you

  • Experience in drafting correspondence in compliance with statutory procedures.
  • Experience of working effectively with others in an office environment, delivering efficient customer service and supporting colleagues in meeting team objectives.
  • Familiarisation with research techniques, reviewing information from a wide rangeof sources and exercising judgement on relevance to a specific enquiry or project
  • Literacy in office software products to enable production / maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets
