Job Description

The Role:

  • The primary purpose of this role is to provide admin support to a number of Smart Motorway Programme schemes.  This will range from processing financial transactions, tracking correspondence, assisting in preparation for gateway reviews and providing other ad hoc support. 

Day to Day:

  • Monitor the relevant SMP and Project mailbox and respond, advise and inform, key stakeholders, supply chain and SMP colleagues as appropriate.
  • Provide direct support to a selected project and take action to ensure correspondence and financial targets are met.
  • Assist the Project Team in preparing for Stage Gate Reviews and OGC Gateway reviews. 
  • Ensure all relevant trackers and databases are kept up to date and containing accurate and detailed information.
  • Provide meeting support by taking minutes, distributing papers and following up other ad hoc actions on a regular basis.
  • Prioritise your own work according to business need to deliver business objectives, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work as part of a team and contribute to an engaged and efficient team.
  • Liaise with colleagues and customers, building effective relationships to develop efficiency and contribute to the continuous improvement of services.
  • Comply with statutory and internal process and procedure and maintain accurate financial and administrative records using organisational systems.
  • Provide support to other Service Areas as required and instructed by your Support Team Leader.

About you: 

  • Literacy in office software products to enable production / maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets.
  • Proven experience of being able to work effectively in an office environment, deliver an efficient customer service, or support delivery of projects though a project office function.
  • Experience in working in a high pressure environment to short notice deadlines.
  • Experience as a key part of a highly functional team.
